Using * in menu navigation in an AA

Is there a way to enable the system to use the * key for menu navigation in an auto attendant?  Both # and 0 are reserved for system functionality (dial by name, operator) but pressing * just results in the message that the key isn't valid.  Is there some way we can utilize this key or is it also reserved due to the sequence used to access prompt managment (#*)?
