Exchange Hybrid - Voicemail not working for online users

$

0

Hi
Not sure if I am in the correct forum.

Following environment:
Exchange 2016 hybrid with Office 365
Skype for Business onprem with sip trunk

Skype is only used onprem only because PSTN calling is not yet supported in our country.
Exchange mailboxes are moved to Exchange Online, hybrid config is still in place.

Unanswered calls are going to voicemail, so far so good.
If a user calls to voicemail using the voicemail number he must enter his mailbox extension, then he gets "... is no a valid mailbox extension"
I have a test user with an onpremise his mailbox. If he calls to voicemail he is recognized, must enter his pin and everything works.

I followed different articles including https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/nexthop/2016/03/29/integrate-on-premise-lync-or-skype-for-business-with-office-365-unified-messaging-um/, everythig seems to be configured correctly, but online user are not able to call to voicemail.

Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Regards
Peter

Hi There

With the end of support for 3rd party PBX systems. We are in a kind of a pickle. Below is our current environment. I've read the article which shows the options but do not see something that would help us. Any help in the right direction would be helpful.

Thanks

Exchange 2013 UM in all servers?

$

Hi

I have a basic question.. I hope somebody can help me... :)

I want to integrate Exchange 2013 with Lync 2013

I have a large organization with several Exchange mailbox and CAS servers. I was used to configure UM in Exchange 2010 where only one server had the UM rol, but now in Exchange 2013 all servers are UM so my question is,

Do I have to configure Exchange UM certificate in all Exchange servers because the user can be in any mailbox server? or can I configure only a few servers and this servers will route the message to the user even if that mailbox server is not UM?

I hope my question is clear.. English is not my first lenguage

Thanks in advance

UM Hunt Group with multiple Pilot Identifiers not working

$

Hello together,

I have a short question adding multiple Pilot idenfitifers to a single hunt group.

I have a Dial Plan with multiple Auto Attendands (lets say 1111, 2222 and 3333) and voice access (4444).

I have two UM-IP Gateways.

I created a Hunt Group for each UM-IP-Gateway in the Dial Plan and added all 4 Pilot Identifiers to them. (1111,2222,3333,4444)

The current issue is: When I call someone and the call is forwarded from the Gateway to the Exchange Server, the Exchange Server will tell me in the 403 forbidden:

The Unified Messaging server cannot find a valid UM hunt group associated with the UM IP gateway. Pilot number: 4444. UMIPGateway: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"

But there is a pilot identifier associated to an UM-IP Gateway...

The strange thing is:
When I create a Hunt Group with the pilot identifier (4444) only, it is working fine.... As soon as I add a second Pilot identifier to the Hunt Group it will not work anymore and I will receive this error.

Have you any idea why this is happening? Did I misconfigured/misunderstand something?

Thanks and greets,

Greets,
Markus

Strange SUBSCRIBEs from UM to Skype

Hi there,

I was troubleshooting another issue on the Skype Edge server, but during that I found the following:

[SUBSCRIBE]

Direction: incoming;source="internal edge";destination="external edge"
Start-Line: SUBSCRIBE sip:MSExchangeUM@ExchangeSRV1.domain.com SIP/2.0

CSEQ: 1187 SUBSCRIBE
ms-diagnostics: 1008;reason="Unable to resolve DNS SRV record";domain="ExchangeSRV1.domain.com";dns-srv-result="NegativeResult";dns-source="InternalCache";source="SIPAccess.company.com"
ms-edge-proxy-message-trust: ms-source-type=EdgeProxyGenerated;ms-ep-fqdn=EdgePool.domain.com;ms-source-verified-user=verified

Does anybody knows why Exchange is doing this? Shall I have somewhere a configuration as the following SIP address looks very strange: MSExchangeUM@ExchangeSRV1.domain.com

I'm asking this because I do have plenty of Exchange servers are all of them does that as well, so I do have a huge amount of the messages on the Edge.

Exchange 2013 - "Sorry you have a mailbox that is not supported by this unified messaging server"

We have Cisco Call manager integrated with Exchange Server 2013 (4 Servers) On premise.  We have Subscriber access configured for an office in NY, we are able to reach Subscriber access number just fine however After you enter the extension it prompts "Sorry you have a mailbox that is not supported by this unified messaging server" and drops the call.  This extension number is UM enabled with a Mailbox associated with a service account for business purpose.  We are able to dial the extension number directly and reach voicemail just fine however not via Subscriber access number.  Can someone help us throw some light on the same?

Enable-UMMailbox : Unified Messaging can't validate or generate a UM PIN for mailbox max.muster..... : Failed to log on as network service. Error: 5.

When i try in powershell from another Server....its our Management Server to enable-ummailbox for any user i got the error message from title above.

When i try from powershell on the local exchange Server i got the same error. When i try from the Exchange Management Shell on th eexchange Server the command is working and it activates UMMailbox for the user.

In the beginning of the script :

Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.SnapIn
Import-Module ActiveDirectory
Import-Module Lync
.'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1'
 cd \
 Connect-ExchangeServer -auto

And then i try the command:

Enable-UMMailbox "Max Muster" -UMMailboxPolicy "hereisourmailboxpolicy" -PinExpired $true -Extensions 6006 -SIPResourceIdentifier max.muster@ourdomain.com

and become the error:

Enable-UMMailbox : Unified Messaging can't validate or generate a UM PIN for mailbox max.muster..... : Failed to log on as network service. Error: 5.

I cannot find something via Google related to this error.

Why is the command working in the exchange Management shell, but not in powershell or in a script via powershell?

I Hope somebody can help

Cannot Migrate from on-prem to Exchange Online

I have a user that is throwing an error when we try to migrate the mailbox to the cloud.

Mailbox 'tester1' in the source forest is currently enabled for Unified Messaging but it can't be enabled

for Unified Messaging in the target forest for the following reason: You need to specify a SIP resource identifier

(for example, tony@contoso.com). Extensions can't be set to null or be empty. Please fix the problem or disable the

mailbox for Unified Messaging before you try the operation again.

Upon running Get-CSUser in Skype for Business 2015, I see a sip address but the LineURI is null.  I thought that when enabling UM users don't need a phone number associated with them? What am I missing with this?

Any way of removing the "instruction message" that plays after your voicemail greeting in Exchange UM

$

0

Hi!

Is there a way to completly remove the "After the tone, please leave your message.... etc etc" once your voicemail greeting is played.

If so, can we do it by user or system wide

We have no "Personal Operator" configured for this user.

We would like to have only the Customer voicemail greeting message, and that's it.

I've tried to search around but does not seems to find any information about this topic.

Thanks for your help!

Exchange picks the last diversion header

We have SIP invite send by CUCM with two diversion headers. Exchange 2013 (CU20) chooses the last one with E.164 format number for diversion and it fails because the UM dialplan URI is set as tel extn. Can we have the first diversion header selected by exchange or can we translate this E.164 to tel extn format in exchange? Please advise

Exchange 2013 Unified Messaging - 302 redirect

$
0

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me on how call routing works with Exchange 2013.

I have a customer that's migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.  They have a Mitel phone system.  When someone calls in on the subscriber access number, which is directed to server Exch01, the caller hears "To Access your mailbox, enter your extension".  When the caller enters the extension, IF the mailbox is homed on the same Exch01 server, the caller can enter their PIN to access their UM mailbox.  IF the mailbox is homed on a server other than Exch01, the caller enters a PIN, hears the call waiting audio for a split second, and then again gets the prompt "To Access your mailbox, enter your extension".  This loop will occur until the call is ended.

My understanding is that Exchange is issuing a 302 redirect back to Mitel to tell it to go dial the server where the mailbox is homed, but Mitel just tries redialing the subscriber number which is pointed back to Exch01, resulting in an endless loop.  The Mitel engineer believes that Exchange should be doing the redirect for Mitel and sending the traffic directly over to the correct mailbox server.

Is the expected behavior that which is occurring, which is Exchange telling the Mitel phone system to go dial a different server and it's thus on Mitel to make a connection to the correct mailbox server?

Thanks!
