Add an Extension Number EAC Bug

$

0

When following the steps to add an extension for a UM enabled user located here:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335124(v=exchg.150).aspx

I noticed a bug in the EAC GUI.  When you try to select the dial plan, it wont' let you.  If you try to add it under email addresses, the dial plan box just stays highlighted red like below.  Trying to select a dial plan, you select it, and click ok, but the box stays blank and highlighted in red.

If you try to add it on UM properties as a secondary extension, you can try to select the dial plan, but when you click OK, the box stays blank.

Command line shell works just fine, but kind of a pain, we are on CU5.  Getting ready to go to CU7.  Anybody else confirm this BUG?

Hi Champs,

Can any one help to get the report ?

how to run a report against Exchange UM in order to display who has recorded a custom greeting versus those that have not done anything?
we need to be able to report on which users have recorded their new voicemail greeting versus those who still have the default message.

Thanks in advance.

MSExchange OAuth warning event every 30 minutes

I'm noticing in the Application event log every 30 minutes I get a warning from MSExchange OAuth Event ID: 2008.  When retrieving metadata from the url 'https://lync-fe.domain.com/metadata/json/1', different certificate(s) have been found.

The only thing we did in Lync is renew the certificates so our internal CA would regenerate them in SHA256 keys.  I checked on the Exchange server and our domain root CA cert for our SHA1 and our new SHA256 root certs are in the Trusted root store for the computer.

I checked in Outlook Web Access and I can still sign into Lync and see presence information.  I would just like to eliminate this warning that is in the logs every 30 minutes and ensure a healthy deployment.

Thank you!

Issue with voting buttons when send externally

Hi everybody,

I have an issue when I want to send voting buttons externally, they disappear. Internally everythink is OK.

I have only one exchange 2013 in my company. The recipients have also exchange 2013 or someone has office 365.

Into remote domain info : there is nothing in TNEFEnabled for default (*) but if I try to create another remote domain with this value at $true. It doesn't work too.

Someone has an idea to resolve that?

Thanks,

Voice Mail boxes for Inclement Weather announcements and employee sick line

Greetings! One of my branch offices moved over to our Lync 2013 environment from a full Nortel PBX and they have a lot of requirements that we don't usually get. The latest:

1) They need a standalone voice mail box (we have plenty of spare DID's we can use for this) where they can record a greeting for employees to hear the status of the office in inclement weather.

2) They need another standalone voice mail box where people who are calling in sick can leave messages.

I had thought for this we might use a fictitious user account, which would mean we have to create an AD account with an Exchange mailbox and then delegate access to the responsible users. Concerns about how they would update the voice mail greeting for the inclement weather mailbox. Googling around resulted in some references to "department phones" but I couldn't find enough details to tell how you would set one up and if it had voice mail capabilities.

We are on Exchange 2013, Lync 2013, latest CU's and service packs.

Any suggestions for these scenarios would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had posted this question in the Lync forum under Voice, but thought this might be a more appropriate forum after looking at a couple similar questions.

Delay on AA pickup

I'm troubleshooting a strange issue where auto-attendants hosted by Exchange UM seem to have a 5 second delay between rings stopping and the recording starting. There's just 5 seconds of silence. There doesn't seem to be any white space in front of the recording, and network connectivity between the Lync front end and the Exchange server seems to be working as intended. Anyone seen this behavior before?

Using UM with a single Lync resource forest and several Exchange forests

Hi,

Is it possible to have Lync talk to multiple different exchange forests for Unified Messaging?

I currently have several business units each with their own domain and exchange environments wanting to use a shared resource domain for Lync.   Exchange is currently deployed into the resource forest as well, and a migration project is planned, however there is a need to have the users on the centralized Lync platform before their mailboxes are to be migrated.

Cheers,

Can you use Exchange UM and transfer to a Group using 2 digits on a 4 digit dial plan?

$

We have a Lync 2013 and exchange 2013 with 4 digit extensions.  Exchange UM will route calls directly to Response Groups if we use the 4 digit part of the response group.   i.e. someone can call in and get the Exchange Auto Attendant and they can enter in 1020 and it transfers the call to a specific response group in Lync.  I want to be able to transfer to a group using just 2 digits though. (i.e. 20) Everything I have tried so far has resulted in getting the dreaded "I am not permitted to make that call, let me transfer you to the operator".  On the Lync side I can easily change the dial plan so a 2 digit call is converted to the 4 digit group.  So internal users can call the group using the 2 digits.

I have read a bunch about the dialing rules and dialing authorization but those don't seem to make a difference. I suspect because they don't really apply to transferring the call what would be a "internal" extension.

Exchange 2013 CU1 UM and Avaya SM R6

Hello! I have a problem integrating Avaya and Exchange 2013 CU1 UM.

In 2010 environment it works perfectly fine, however with Exchange 2013 I was unable to make it work.

I was looking into the packets sent by 2010 and 2013, the only difference is in 302 reply. Exchange 2010 sendsextension@ip:port as the Contact URI while Exchange 2013 sendsextension@fqdn:port

Avaya doesn't seem to recognize the format and instead of connecting to the specified within the contact field service just keeps querying TCP 5060 (Call Router Service).

Is there any way to force Exchange to use IP within the contact field instead of FQDN?

Pointing SIP Entity to 5065/5067 directly is not an option for obvious reasons well covered here on the forums.

Auto attendant intermittently routes call to out of region/not in dial plan UM server

$

Hi all,

Exchange 2013 on prem, hardware not virtual. CU5 w/Lync 2013

I've got calls that get intermittently routed to UM servers that are out of region and not in the dial plan.  The out of region UM server sees the call is outside of business hours & sends helpdesk calls to voicemail instead of the appropriate phone menu.

Additionally, when Exchange admins who are in different time zones look at the GUI w/the AA's business hours they see a time skew even though the time displayed is listed as Eastern.  I think the mis-routing & the time zone skew are related.  When the Tokyo server gets the call it checks the time: 3AM? Not in business hours even though in Eastern Time where the call is supposed to go, it is in business hours.

In the Lync client log (as seen via the snooper tool) this is the last message before the call gets transferred:

ms-diagnostics: 15032;reason="Re-directing request to the destination in 302”

Additionally the time zone on the AA schedule is set to Eastern Time.  Why is the TYO UM server ignoring this and applying local time?

Any tips to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

UM Auto Attendant -- Operator Transfer Issue

$

Hello,

We are running Exchange 2013 CU 3 and Lync 2013 rollup 8.  For the most part, UM is working smoothly.  Callers are able to call our main number (auto attendant) and transfer to a user's extension. No problem.

We have configured a Lync response group to serve as our operator...and this is where the issue begins.  If we configure the response group with a five digit extension like our regular users, and set the operator extension as that 5 digit number, the auto attendant replies "Sorry, I couldn't transfer your call."  If I switch the response group to a full E164 number and enter that as the operator extension (minus the +, of course) it works.  While the response group is configured with the 5 digit extension, I can call it from within Lync without issue by extension...the problem only surfaces when the auto attendant tries to transfer.  The application log on the UM server throws two events:

Any ideas?  Everything I've found seems to suggest disabling refer support within Lync, but that's already done---and on the whole, the issue is only affecting transfers to a response group via 5 digit extension.

Thanks in advance :)

Migrating from UM 2010 to UM 2013 - Question about coexistence..

$

Hello,

I am at a customer right now, where we are going to migrate from UM 2010 to UM 2013(Full Exchange migration), while doing a Lync migration as well. My question is simply, is there any way to coexist the two UM environments so that an individual user migration can be done?

Scenario;

UM 2010 and Lync 2010 user gets migrated to Exchange 2013 with his UM as well. This user would be a Exchange UM 2013 user, on a Lync 2010 pool. All my UM dialplans are made pointing to the old pool, which would give routing issues as I see it.

Is there a way to automate Things, so when this user is moved to the new Exchange server, then he will still Work on Lync 2010?

Thank you for helping out :-)

Kind regards, Thomas Laursen

Exchange 2013 UM Setup in DR Scenario

$

My company is doing an Exchange 2013 upgrade later this year from 2010. We are also moving to a hosted Datacenter environment. The question is mainly around UM but generally speaking, I am looking to setup a 2 site scenario with the  primary voip being in a remote 3rd site and a backup voip in backup DR site. If I was to implement 2 cas, 2 mbx in primary site and 1 cas, 1 mbx in backup DR site, how would I go about setting this up? I know the basics behind the setup as far as the CAS doing the SIP handoff to the MBX server and the MBX server creating a media channel between mailbox and voip gateway but not familiar with the following:

1. Is it possible to have a voip gateway in the remote site

2. Can I have an active/active scenario between site A and site B cas servers?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Chinese Language Pack will not play prompts or greetings - begins recording voicemail immediately

$

We have installed Exchange 2013 Sp1 on Windows Server 2012 R2 (in a production and and in a test environment) and in both environments the Chinese greetings do not play. If the access number is dialed it drops the call. If a user's extension is dialed - it goes immediately into the recording the greeting without playing the "please leave a message for".

I have an open support case with Microsoft and they say it is a SIP issue.

The problem I have is that I can't get any of the 3 flavors of Chinese to work (CN, TW or HK) but I can get other languages, KR, ES, PT to play just fine. Why would this be a SIP issue?

Anyone else get a Chinese Language pack working?

Thanks!

Lync 2010 with Exchange 2013 UM

$

Hi,

I am currently in the early stages of a large migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. We have moved some test user mailboxes over to Exchange 2013 however have stumbled at the UM integration.

We have 2 x CAS and 3 x Mailbox servers with Lync 2010.

When a user diverts his/her calls to VM, the calls just cuts off and we get "Unable to establish a connection. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 1.1.1.2:5061.

We get this message for all 3 Mailbox servers that it attempts to route the call too. Mailboxes servers listen on 5063 for TLS in Exchange 2013 and these cannot be changed. So what is going wrong with my setup?

Only the CAS are members of the DialPlan (we have tried putting the mailboxes servers in the dial plan with no avail).

Shouldn't the CAS servers redirect Lync to the Mailbox servers on 5063 instead of 5061? Why is Lync trying to connect on 5061 (I know why, but how do I stop it!)

Many Thanks,

Eddie
